News: RCAW update
Back
From Guernsey to Edinburgh, Red Cross staff and volunteers have been pulling out all the stops to raise as much money as possible.
Festivities began last week and over the Bank Holiday weekend including a launch event in Glasgow on Monday featuring a live performance of our Appeal Week song – With a little help from you – by Reid and Stanners.
Events – big and small – have continued throuout the week and collections are raking in funds nationwide. Sponsored challeneges are also proving popular including a 35-mile walk to the local pub and an attempt to spend the entire week on roller skates.
And we’re not finished yet. There are still plenty more events for you to get involved with – just check out the events listings to find out what’s happening near you. Highlights include a Monte Carlo-themed ball on the Isle of Man this Saturday and a murder mystery night in Worcestershire on Monday.
You can also donate and purchase stock in Red Cross Shops especially for Appeal Week up until 14 May by attaching a label available to download on this site.
If you’re still wondering what Appeal Week is all about, read our blog post on its origins. Other special RCAW blogs are being published throughout the week including eight reasons we need your support, fabulous red recipes and five fascinating facts about fundraising buckets.
Don’t forget to share your photos on Flickr, show your support on Facebook and tweet away to your heart’s content using #RCAW.
Let’s make this the best Appeal Week yet!
